The Client
Encouraging a hands-on approach to men’s health
Healthy Male empowers men and boys to take charge of their health by sharing accessible, engaging, and evidence-based health information while also developing the capabilities of the health systems and practitioners who care for them.
The "Check Your Balls" campaign transformed a serious health topic into an approachable conversation through humour and straightforward guidance. We created a comprehensive digital campaign that brought everything men needed into one central hub – from clear self-check instructions to next steps if something unusual was found, plus resources on related health conditions and automated self-check reminders.
By engagingly packaging all this evidence-based information across multiple channels, we helped break down the barriers to implementing this important health habit.

The Challenge
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men, and regular self-checks are the best ways to spot it early when it's most treatable. We needed to cut through the awkwardness surrounding this topic and make it a normal part of the conversation for men aged 18-44, with genuine and approachable messaging.
Our approach
We teamed up with Healthy Male to create a campaign that used light, direct, and occasionally cheeky messaging to grab attention. By meeting men where they were already spending time online, we focused on building a complete resource that addressed men's concerns from start to finish – how to check properly, what to do if they found something unusual, and stories from others who'd been through the experience. The comprehensive online hub we developed will remain active long after the campaign ends, serving as an ongoing resource for men seeking information about testicular health.

What we delivered
The campaign came to life through a mix of digital touchpoints including a straightforward landing page with clear self-check instructions, regular email reminders, and social content across multiple platforms. The creative developed balanced eye-catching visuals with practical information, using humour to make the message stick.
The impact
The campaign reached over a million Australian men, with the landing page becoming one of the most visited on the Healthy Male website. Most importantly, we saw signs of genuine behaviour change, with 79% of quiz respondents feeling more likely to perform regular self-checks after engaging with the campaign. The campaign continues to create impact through Healthy Male's ongoing reminder service, which sends themed prompts to subscribers. This transforms a one-off awareness push into a sustained health habit, helping Australian men take a more hands-on approach to their wellbeing for years to come.
